About Kevin Rau |
I'm the author of the H.E.R.O. series of novels in the SciFi/Superhero genre. I also do character art (as seen on the rest of the page here).
I've launched the Author Interview pages to promote my fellow authors, and hopefully create some cross-links back to their websites or social networks within the interview.
Interview with Emily Black
Emily Black Interview Date: 3/29/2012 |
When did you start writing, and was there a significant event that prompted you to do so?
I started writing when, I was very young. I must have been about nine, when I started writing short storys and poems. There was no real significant event that happened in my life, that made me want to write, it just seemed too come naturally to me.
If you could have one superpower, what would it be? (Assuming said power would be reasonably "powerful.")
If I could have any superpower in the world, it would probably be the ability to control water.
Do you have a favorite superhero from novels, comics, or movies?
My favorite superhero Rogue from X-MEN.
Kev's response: I'm a big fan of Rogue - or at least the comic book version prior to when the first X-Men movie came out.
Where do you get your inspiration for writing? What motivates you?
I get my inspiration from many things, my friends, films I've seen, books I've read and most of the time my inspiration seems to come out of thin air.
Do you pre-plan your stories, or are you a by-the-seat-of-the-pants style writer?
I guess I'm a "by-the-seat-of-the-pants" writer. I've always just kinda went with the flo.
Do you write only when inspired, or do you have a set schedule where you sit down to write?
I could never have a set time to write a story, it's just not my stlye. But I wouldn't say I'm always inspired when I write either.
Do you have a favorite genre to write in? To read?
I love writing about the Paranormal, and reading about it too.
Kev's response: Ooooh, GHOSTS! (I think I just scared myself.)
What do you enjoy the most about writing?
The thing that I enjoy most is that it takes you away from the mundane of the world.
Is there any part of writing that you don't enjoy?
It would probably be editing.
Kev's response: Aye, if I could just write, and not have to go through so many edit passes, I'd love that.
Can you tell me something odd about yourself?
I watch a lot of cartoons and play the x-box non stop. I think thats odd, seeing as I'm the only girl I know does it.
Do you write one story at a time, or do you have several novels in the works at one time?
I write several bits and pieces for my different novels at a time.
What are your current projects?
My current project is a book called Crowley's Bet.
